Soft Capital
Vinyl with fan, 15'x2'
2018

Soft Capital Soft Capital explores the violence of capitalism and the capitalist subject through architecture and objects. The inflatable tube man proclaims sites of large scale consumerism like car dealerships and condo showrooms. He acts as the contemporary equivalent of the Corinthian column, supporting the structure of society powered by consumer decisions while also ineffably flapping and insubstantially filling with wind. Images are from the 2018 installation for Capital Formation Comfort Station, Chicago, IL and the 2018 School of the Art Institute of Chicago's Design Show. The work was exhibited in "The Walls"(Toronto, 2019).
